One of the most popular vacations in the world is backpacking across Europe. The close proximity of all of the surrounding countries combined with the overwhelming amount of international attractions in Europe makes this trip a must for the avid traveler. When I embarked on my backpacking trip, I decided to start in France, which is also referred to as the romantic capital of the world. The beauty of France couldn’t be captured in one article, so I decided to touch on a few of my favorite attractions.
Of course, the Eiffel Tower is the most famous attraction in France and one of the most notable monuments across the globe, so obviously, I had to travel to Paris to see what all the fuss was about. Needless to say, it was worth the trip.
It’s one thing to take a romantic kissy photo in front of the tower, but it’s a completely different experience witnessing the beautiful French landscape from atop the national monument. You can take a series of lifts or walk the stairs to get to the top. I personally recommend walking to the top because you are able to see the countryside from every angle. It’s mesmerizing.
The French Riviera is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. As I approached the Mediterranean waters, they began to sparkle from the shine of the sun. It was like something out of fairy tale. The gorgeous mixture of bright blues made the Cote d’Azur one of my favorite spots in France. A fellow tourist recommended that I walk to the top of Castle Hill. I followed his advice, and the view left me breathless.
Musée du Louvre
Most of you probably know this terrific art museum as the home of the Mona Lisa, arguably the most famous piece of art in the world. Although you can’t miss out on witnessing such a historic painting, the Musée du Louvre has so much more to offer. Many people consider it to be the most magnificent museum in the world. Not just art museum, but museum in general.
